Description

The HR Manager is responsible for overseeing and executing a wide range of human resources functions to support Mathnasium’s mission, culture, and workforce. This role manages daily HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits, employee relations, compliance, learning and development and performance management. The HR Manager serves as a key resource to employees and leaders, ensuring a positive employee experience, promoting organizational effectiveness, and maintaining compliance with employment laws and internal policies. This position requires strong communication skills, independent judgment, and the ability to build trusting relationships at all levels of the organization.

What You’ll Do:

  • Partner with Center Directors and Leadership Team to manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and hiring.
  • Manage benefits administration with accuracy and adherence to timelines and partner with payroll to ensure benefits are accurately reflected in pay systems.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and manage HR documentation.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for HR-related inquiries and support employees throughout their journey with us.
  • Oversee the performance review process to ensure consistency, timeliness, and alignment with organizational goals. HR metrics, employee records, and performance tracking systems.

Requirements

Work Schedule:

  • The expected full-time work schedule will be 40 hours spread between Monday through Friday
  • The minimum expected office hours are 10:00am to 6:00pm. Deviation from this requires notice given to the supervisor.
  • This position is 90% remote, with up to 10% on site through day or overnight travel depending on the needs of the organization.
  • The work schedule may be modified occasionally to accommodate the needs of the business. Additionally, time will be required outside of these hours for events, meetings and training.

Abilities/Skills:

  • Highly organized with strong multitasking skills.
  • Good time-management skills with prioritization abilities.
  • Positive and personable demeanor with the ability to handle stressful situations in a way that matches our company values.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Willing to take initiative, capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, analyze/interpret HR reports and statistics and write reports and business correspondence if needed.
  • Strong comprehension of Google Suite.

Education/Work Experience:

  • Must have a high school diploma. Undergraduate degree preferred.
  • Prior Human Resource experience
  • Aptitude for education, leadership, and customer service.
  • Familiarity with Paylocity or similar HRIS system is a plus.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Resilience is also key to this position, the person needs to adapt well in the face of workplace stressors such as employee issues and/or competing priorities of reasonable or high significance.
